Staying in a Luxury Tent Near Colorado Springs

September 1, 2019

Westcliffe, Colorado. Ever heard of it? No, me either. Well not until I stayed in this beautiful luxury tent I booked through Glamping Hub!

Location & Property Story

Located about three hours south of Denver, and an hour and a half from Colorado Springs, on a ranch tucked in the mountains of Westcliffe is this tent oasis. I had the opportunity to get to know the host a little bit. Ever since getting to Colorado I found myself asking people, “so, how did you end up moving to Colorado?” Because what I’ve learned is most are transplants. And I understand why. Colorado is beautiful, so beautiful the word beautiful doesn’t begin to describe it. ANYWAYS. The host was visiting Denver for work years ago and an Amish family asked for a ride from Denver to Westcliffe. She said yes even though it was about an hour and a half out of her way. Upon dropping off the family and seeing the small town, she called her husband and said ‘we need to move to Westcliffe.’ The rest is history.

Luxury Tent Interior

Inside each luxury tent is a queen size bed, a full bathroom and, a gas fireplace with a remote control to keep guests warm and toasty all night. The tents have beautiful hardwood floors with rustic mountain furnishings, think: brown leather armchair and old whiskey barrels.

Each tent also has a private full bathroom with a shower, access to the central deck and an outdoor seating area. On the deck you’ll have views of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and even spot a 14er or two! There is also access to a grill.

In addition, there is a large barn style building with a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, living room area, and a see-through wood burning fireplace. All cookware and tableware is provided and there is even coffee and a coffee machine 🙂

Westcliffe, Colorado

The property is about 10 miles from the center of Westcliffe where there are restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. It’s a pretty small town so don’t set your expectations too high and if you’re more of a Whole Foods person, swing by in Colorado Springs before heading to the tents. Here are a few recommendations:

Restaurants:

  • Chappy’s Bar and Grill- good food and awesome atmosphere!
  • Alpine Lodge- casual fine dining
  • Roadhouse 96
  • Tony’s Pizza
  • Ranchers Roost Cafe (bowling alley)
  • Sugar and Spice Mountain Bakery
  • Buster Burger – delicious burgers
  • Silver Cliff Mountain Inn (also known as Willie’s)- known for their breakfast

This is one of the most beautiful properties I’ve ever stayed on. The mountains, the vibe, the horses, the cattle drives- ugh I could go on and on! This place is incredible. Yet another place added to the list I will return to with my nearest and dearest. Head to Glamping Hub to check out this unique, luxury property alongside so many others!
