As of late, the Northeast has become the mecca of tiny houses and cozy log cabin stays. And after a year of not being able to leave this corner of the world I did as one does to satiate that incurable case of wanderlust: explored my own backyard. I became infatuated with cabins and decided I must stay at as many as humanly possible. I quickly learned, finding solid cabins that give off all the cozy vibes is wildly overwhelming simply do to the amount of them available!

The Canopy Treehouse
This treehouse evokes peace. The deafening silence of the forest and the occasional birdsong are the only two things you’ll hear. The workmanship on the cabin is beautiful – from the cabin itself to the attention to detail that is so obvious around the entire structure. It’s hard not to appreciate every inch of this treehouse.

At the end of a quiet gravel road, down a winding dirt driveway, secreted away among the pines and along the cool waters of the Crooked River, you’ll find the Crooked River Tiny House. This highly secluded, off grid eco retreat is on a 480-acre peninsula or property and in fact, your nearest neighbor is about a mile away.
It’s important to note that there is no running water or electricity although there is a small solar set up inside which makes this little cabin the perfect mix of camping and glamping and while it’s not for everyone, don’t knock it until you try it! All the quiet, rest and relaxation one could ever want.

Tiny Earth Cabin is situated on sixty-acres of privately owned land. Upon arrival, you’ll unload your vehicle at the trailhead and start the five-minute stroll on a groomed path to the cabin (path is downhill on the way to the cabin). Chance, the host, will accompany and assist you in transporting items to the cabin and provide you with a tour of the cabin’s amenities.
Tiny Earth Cabin was originally built by a family of three moving to New Hampshire from Hawaii and, there is a sweet little story that goes along with it, but I won’t spoil it for you so you’ll just have to book a getaway!
Tiny Earth Cabin is off grid which means there is no electricity however, the cabin is fully equipped with 12 volt LED lighting and ceiling fans to better circulate heat from the small wood stove. And, if you forgot something the Country Store in Canterbury Center is just a few minutes away.

Located atop a ravine, centered on a 24 acre estate, in rural NH, this spot is a cozy retreat in nature with a few present day necessities. This cabin is a unique A-frame/Salt box combo called the “G-Frame.” The interior space is open and airy with a loft for sleeping and downstairs area for cooking, eating and relaxing. There are a few large windows providing all of the natural light you could ever want or need. The hosts, Colleen and Alex, are the sweetest people I’ve met and if you get the chance to chat with them please do so! They have big plans for their space and I can’t wait to watch it all unfold.
